Here I am back in Alice again after two weeks adventuring in the wilds of the east coast. The birthday gatherings for Tara's 21st and Sal's 50th were a great opportunity to see all the family and friends I miss so much when I am away...I wish everyone was a little closer.
It was great to see Kath and go floating down the river (avoiding all the multitude of vessels that threatened to run us over) in the glorious sea...and to laugh with her again!
It was wonderful to go walking with Heather early in the mornings, it's still dark at 5.30 when we climbed the steps to the lighthouse for the sunrise view with all the other dawn tourists, then down for a roll in the rolling sea -
Played a few tunes with Gerry Harris and thought about becoming an ocean swimmer like him in my old age...
It was fun to hang out with Jesse...and it was beautiful to have a last lunch with Tara...
Alice weather has been transformed in my absence - the rain that was bucketing down when I left has cooled the place down and it is absolutely blissful now. Warm days and cool nights, just what I like.
Here are some signs of the times: one from Alice airport and one from the Gold Coast... that's ol' George up there in the ad.
